The Autumn meeting was held on Tuesday 8th October and although the sun was shining when all the players arrived at the course, the rain clouds appeared quickly and waterproofs were needed to combat the heavy drizzle for the rest of the day.
The competitions were well supported on both courses and players were organised into teams of three, counting the best two scores on each hole. The competition on the Church Course was extremely close with only one point between the top two teams, however it was the team of Sue G Jones, Penny Moon and Chris Henderson who won the day with a total of 69 points from Pauline Meredith, Edna Alford and Trudie Tremain in second place with 68 points.
On the Holywell Course the team of Mary Hooper, Bridget Power and Jackie Fisher compiled a winning total of 71 points ahead of Teresa Radford, Fran Pennington and Jane Parr in second place with 69 points.
The prize table was beautifully decorated with vivid and colourful flowers and pot plants. On returning to the club house, everyone enjoyed a splendid afternoon tea and to round off proceedings, Chris Henderson congratulated her playing partners as well as thanking all those involved in organising this year’s Autumn Meeting.
