St. Enodoc Golf Club - Kernow Cup vs St Mellion

Kernow Cup vs St Mellion

This match was played on the 29th of July in a blustery wind and on the Holywell due to handicap limitations.

Lewis was 1 over par for the 18 holes playing Jamie. He birdied the 17th and put a wedge on the 18th to 10ft, however his opponent put it to 6ft (and with a shot on this hole and 13 overall), Lewis had to hole and hope for a half but unfortunately it shaved the edge and lead to a win for St Mellion. 1-0

Jack played well against Matthew after winning a prize at a charity event at The Point the day before. Lee Bateman had mixed emotions about Jack's charity day win as he had forced Lee into 3rd or 4th, but Lee was glad to see a winner from St Enodoc Juniors. Keep it up Jack! Jack won today with a convincing 5&4 victory despite giving 15 shots to his opponent. 1-1

Liam fought valiantly but was not at his best. He had to put a lot of work in to keep up with Evie who scored well whilst receiving 16 shots. 2-1 to St Mellion.

To conclude it wa 2-1 loss for St Enodoc but there was some very good scoring and team spirits were great throughout. The next match is on the 24th of August vs Launceston on the Church course.
