On Saturday 7 September we hosted the annual Junior Dallas Scramble on the Holywell course. Teams consisted of one St Enodoc Lady and three Juniors. Our Holywell course is a perfect training ground for these young golfers, who can not only put their technical skills to good use but also learn from the ladies how to behave on course, golf etiquette and how to score, etc. Eight teams took part and as well St Enodoc boys and girls there were youngsters from Carlyon Bay, Tehidy, Merlin, Truro, West Cornwall, St Austell and Newquay.
Also in each team was a member of the County Girls team, great role models for the younger inexperienced players, both on and off the course. Some of the County team have played in this Scramble a few years ago when they had just started in the game with very high handicaps, our thanks to them for returning and showing what can be achieved. The current CLCGA champion, Emily Toy , played in this scramble only 3 or 4 years ago with a much higher handicap than she plays off now. The day was rounded off with bowls of chips and wedges in the clubhouse where some weary youngsters (and ladies) received prizes for the day.
