Saturday 20th February was another windy and wet day, the wind gusting hard, especially in the afternoon. 48 of our hardiest members entered the 7th round of the John Cory Cup and were rewarded in the bar with some warming whiskey courtesy of Mark Pimble and his hole in one. Well done Mark.
Guy Hovil scored a very respectable 30 points to take first place. The competition was reductions only with a CSS of 74. Having made a bad start with a 7 on the 1st, Guy played a steady round after that with a net birdie on the 3rd.
Mark Pimble came in 2nd with 29 points. The wind did not adversely affect Mark on the 15th where he hit his hole in one. Richard Lawrence took 3rd place also on 29 points and earned himself the top points for the series. Richard currently leads the series by 1 point from John Paul, with 2 rounds to play.
Keith Searle also scored 29 points and took 4th place, with Neil Bradley on 27 points in 5th place. Matthew Warr, John Rowe and Lewis Bradley all scored 26 points to finish 6th, 7th and 8th in the prizes.
