There was a good turnout this Saturday for the 5th round of the Cory Cup. The weather in the morning looked promising with its warm start, and 77 players entered the competition. However as we well know things can change fast and the afternoon brought strong winds and steady rain.
In first place with 33 points Andy Beare had a great round. Playing in the afternoon with the weather coming in he scored on every hole and birdied the 6th. Nigel Goodman came 2nd with 32 points and Keith Hawke was 3rd with 31 points.
All on 30 points, Joe Tamblyn, John Westlake, Malcolm Knight and Steve Smith took the next 4 places on the leaders board with Rod Frost and Nick Evans behind them with 29 points each. Malcolm Mullis took 10th place and the last prize of the day with 30 points on countback.
Now, half way through the series, points are becoming important. After his win this week Andy Beare is leading the Series with 60 points.
