It was a very wet start to the 4th round of the John Cory Cup on Saturday. The Early Birds and Teachers chose not to play as the rain sheeted down, opting for a men’s coffee morning instead! The first to brave the weather were Steve Chapman and Jack Irwin as the weather eased off a little and then improved through the day.
Tom Hughes finished with the days highest score of 34 points. Tom had a birdie on the 14th and has also had his handicap cut to 17, he was ahead of a gaggle of golfers who all finished with 33 points. Steve Chapman was ahead on countback to take 2nd place overall, followed by Simon Welch in 3rd place and Dennis Brown in 4th place. Andy Bunt finished in 5th on countback, with Chris Jennings in 6th and Rob Cook in 7th place.
