On Saturday, in wind and rain the men played the last round of the John Cory Cup Series. The weather worsened through the day with the Early birds benefitting from the best conditions. The wind did not stop Chis Jennings getting a hole in one on the 17th and was not enough to stop Paul Hughes finishing the Series the same way he started, with a win and 20 series points.
Hughes scored 35 points to take first place with his nett 70. He had a cracking front nine, with a birdie on the 7th. Paul scored maximum points in the series with 3 wins. The series was 6 rounds with 3 scores to count, having won the first two rounds Paul finished in style on Saturday.
In second place on Saturday James Hutchings scored 34 points with a nett 71, behind him the next 5 places were decided by countback. All scoring 33 points; Andy Burt came 3rd, Shaun Beare, 4th, Matt Robins 5th, Paul Warren 6th, Rod Frost 7th and Greg Mather 8th.
