Round 5 of the John Cory Cup was rescheduled when it snowed so the penultimate round of the series was played on Saturday with 65 members entering.
There wasn’t much movement at the top of the series, Paul Hughes still holds the lead after winning the first two rounds back in October and November last year. Rob Cook remains second in the series, but Dennis Brown has moved up into 3rd. There is a copy of the series table under ‘extras’.
On Saturday, round 5 saw a countback for first place with Mark Pimble coming out on top with 37 points, his birdie on the 17th helped him grab the top spot. Mark has his handicap cut to 16. Stuart Fleet finished in 2nd with his 37 points, and had a cut to 8.
In 3rd place Martin Biddle had 36 points, with Philip Hoare and Greg Mather in 4th and 5th respectively with 35 points and Steve Smith, Lewis Bradley and Dave Pooley finishing 6th, 7th and 8th with 33 points.
