St. Enodoc Golf Club - Joe Cruse Makes His Last Stand

Today see's St Enodoc's Joe Cruse compete in the Champion of Champions 36 Hole Stroke Play at Woodhall Spa. This is his final major competition before hanging up his amateur club and County colours and preparing to step into the professional arena. Joe qualified for Woodhall earlier on in the year when he won the Cornwall Golf Union County Championship for a second time held at West Cornwall in May. At the beginning of September St Enodoc held the Annual Goodman trophy and to leave a lasting impression Joe, not content with just one trophy ended up coming away with both the Goodman Trophy (nett) and the Rachel Biddle Cup (gross)!

In preparation for today Joe had a practice round on Saturday with some familiar company in the form of Somerset's Jeremy Larcombe (Burnham & Berrow) and Devon's Jake Burnage (Saunton) who had also qualified. For moral support and doubling as caddy, Joe's girlfriend Stephanie has joined him at Woodhall Spa. Today Joe tee'd off for Round 1 at 08.56am and this afternoon will tee off for Round 2 at 13.56hrs. The live leaderboard can be found on the England Golf Website www.englandgolf.org

It just leaves us to wish Joe and Steph all the very best of luck today at Woodhall Spa.
