Back again from Newquay, a good day for St Enodoc, Joe Cruse is through to the final tomorrow, the 36 holes start at 10am tomorrow. He will play Ryan Curtis.
Joe played Steve Chapman in the morning and after a very good start by Joe, Steve pegged hole after hole back to get to all square but Joe edged the game out to win 1 up. This afternoon he had a fast start again on the front 9 against Sandy Kirton, and was 5 up at the turn. Holes 10,11 and 12 have been Joe’s weakest holes this week for no great reason, Sandy pegged 2 back and it looked like another would leak away at 13 but Joe holed a great 10 footer to stop the rot. He halved 14 and on 15th par 5 was in the very deep bunker to the left of the green for two. Maybe he was playing with the nerves of his supporters! He just went and holed it for an eagle and to win the game 4 and 3! He was 4 under par for the 15 holes.
Tomorrow should be a first class game between two very talented golfers. St Enodoc members be there, a day not to miss.
