On Wednesday 29th June a Team of 4 ladies from St Enodoc travelled to Launceston G.C. for the Interclub Handicap Shield. It was a well attended County competition with 18 teams and 72 individual entrants in the Strokeplay tournament. The St Enodoc Team consisted of Sue Rowarth, Penny Moon, Mary Rayment and Sarah Fisher who were all up for the challenge of testing their potential at this parkland course.
Being partnered with teams from Carlyon Bay and St Austell our Ladies soon settled in to each of their games very well, this was largely helped by the wonderful advice and experience being offered by their respective Caddys, Jan Harrison, Maria Buckley, Jules Finch and Viv Steer, to whom the playing team were so grateful.
With the best 3 out of the 4 scores needed the Team entered their total nett score of 235 and eventually finished a respectable 7th place to Perranporth who took first place with a nett 224. No disappointment as everyone really enjoyed the day, the course, the food afterwards and the challenge.
