Saturday was cold cold cold. The frost was hard and the wind bitter. The Church Course had to stay closed until 11.00am.
Luckily this week saw the first of our regular Saturday Holywell Stableford Competitions. Open to Men and Juniors with 2 divisions for prizes, players can enter as a roll up and play anytime (except birides times).
As a pleasant change for some the Holywell Course provided some excellent golf. Richard Bentley finished 1st with a spectacular 46 points with Roger Tremain and Keith Searle in 2nd and 3rd with 43 points. James Hutchings, Danny Hoare and Chris Jennings all scored 40 points to take 4th, 5th and 6th place. Mark Pimble also scored 40 points but missed out on a prize on countback.
The highest placed Junior was Charlie Edwards with an very impressive 39 points.
