Following their successful involvement in the Lanhydrock Seniors’ Open a few days earlier, the Seniors visited the club again on Monday, 3rd August for the regular fixture between the Clubs’ senior sections. And once again it was a successful venture as the Old Saints came away with a 5 – 3 victory.
All but three matches were closely contested and ironically, Steve Smith was unusually delighted only to double his score on the short par 3 that he had aced four days earlier. The course was superb, the company and ambiance created, colourful and stimulating and it appears that Paul Godfrey does not now feel it necessary to visit the trees as frequently as previously. Old Hickory is at a loss to know whether this is a reflection on his golf or an improvement in a certain medical condition !
