St. Enodoc Golf Club - Good start for the Ladies in the Mail on Sunday

St Enodoc Ladies had a highly successful day on 29th January when they played Roserrow Ladies in the first round of the Mail on Sunday Competition. The format is singles match play with 5 ladies in each team. Despite deteriorating weather, the ladies of St Enodoc played some great golf which is reflected in the scores. Jane Bendall beat Maggie Day 6 & 4, Beth Elliott beat Irene Breckon 4 & 2, Shannon Ashcroft beat Jackie Smeeth 4 & 3 and Sue Willmott beat Ann Braithwaite 6 & 4. Gill Goodright took Lynn Ashcroft to the final green but Lynn came out the winner for St Enodoc after a very close game to make the final result 5 – 0.

 On Tuesday the ladies played a Yellow Ball Competiition on both courses. On the Church Course the winners with 63 points were Chris Dymond, Penny Moon and Pauline Wilkins. In second place were Pat Parry, Jane Bendall and Bobbie Rounsevell with 58 points. The winners on the Holywell Course with an amazing score of 81 points were Gloria Crouch, Nan Girling and Helen Russell.
