St. Enodoc Golf Club - Good scores despite the weather for the Ladies

St Enodoc Ladies have had quite a busy week and the inclement weather conditions certainly haven\'t made the golf as enjoyable as you would hope for at this time of the year. On Sunday a EWGA Medal was played on the Church Course and the winner with a Nett 77 was Jean Tatum. In second place on countback was Sue Willmott.

On Tuesday Medal Competitions were played on both courses. Hard showers and humid conditions made play less enjoyable however, some good scores were achieved despite this. On the Church Division 1 was won by Terri Gliddon with a nett 77 from Celia Jarvis on 79, Pauline Meredith on 80 and Jax Buse on 81. Division 2 was won by Sue Floyd Jones on nett 85 from Viv Steer on nett 90. On the Holywell Course the winner of this round of the Beason Cup was Ann Irons with a great score of Nett 59 reducing her handicap to 27, as did Ann Worden by scoring Nett 60 to come second. In third place was Gill Goodright with a Nett 64.

On Thursday four brave ladies ventured to Falmouth Golf Club to play in the Annual Bronze Shield Competition. The rain was so heavy that the competition had to be halted for some time until the course flooding was cleared. Our team of Viv Steer, Teresa Radford, Maxine Rich and Sue Floyd Jones eventually teed off on the twelfth to give the beginning part of the course time to dry out only to be stopped again on the sixteenth hole due to fog!! Play was eventually completed but unfortunately our ladies found the conditions disruptive and were not able to bring home any prizes.
