Good News at the Ladies County Championships

The Cornwall LGU held their Annual Championships at Bude between the 10th and 13 April with some positives for St Enodoc. After 36 Medal holes the top 16 then played Match play to decide the Championships which was won by  Emily Toy who beat fellow Carlyon Bay Member Eugenie Knight over the 36 hole final 4&3 . The next 16 qualifiers play off for the Plate and in which there were 6 representatives from St Enodoc.  Bev Vann made it all the way to the Final and having been 5 down staged a come back but finally lost 2&1 to 14 year old Laura Andrews from Truro, who had beaten Jax Buse in the second round. To round off the successful sweep by Carlyon Bay the Advanced Plate was won by Abi Maude 6&5 who beat Collette Burgess from Bude.

It was also announced at the prizegiving that Sue Roworth is to be the new County Vice-Captain. Well done both Bev and Sue from all of us.
