On a very blustery Sunday July 5th the mixed foursomes flag competitions on both courses took place. Each pair had a specified number of shots based on the par and their handicaps to get as far as they could around the course.
On the Church course the perfect blend of youth and experience triumphed, the ‘evergreen’ Norman Evans teaming up with Kira Barnes to get as far as the nineteenth hole.
The Holywell event was won by the team of Carol and Kevin Birkett who carried their shots to the twentieth hole. Three generations of the Pain family played on the Holywell which was great to see. Those teams in the prizes had their winnings put onto their cards. Well done to all competitors for getting as far as they did in trying conditions.
