St. Enodoc Golf Club - First Mixed Greensomes of 2019

First Mixed Greensomes of 2019

L to R: Club Captain Tony Mindel, Di Mindel, Paul Clemens & Ladies Captain Sue Roworth

Michael Fish of the hurricane that wasn't coming fame would have been pleased today because his successor forecasters got it pretty much spot on for the Rock forecast today. Mild temperature, hint of breeze, then just cloud and a hint of watery sun; the Captain tried to claim it was all down to him - the decent January weather that is. Niblick is not so sure, however since Tony Mindel is coming to end of his period of office maybe he has at last found his touch. Lets hope so, there is plenty of golf between now and Easter.

Enough of the English pre-occupation with the weather. Two Mixed Greensomes competitions today, Church and Holywell. Great scoring on the Holywell in the benign conditions where Mr & Mrs Club Captain put together a magnificent 48 points - and this despite the Club Captain being docked a shot in the recent handicap review. Good scoring too on the Church especially from the Ladies Captain and partner Paul Clemens, the latter on especially good form (Memo to Geoff Jones re the Frank Wills squad !).

So those in the money were

Holywell Course:

1st Di & Tony Mindel 48 points

2nd Cath & Terry Buscombe 43 points

Church Course:

1st Sue Roworth & Paul Clemens

2nd Janine & Tuck Clagett

3rd Bev Vann & Kevin Brenton

Well played everyone !
