As predicted by the weather forecast the breeze picked up today and slowly increased during the afternoon. The early starters had the best of the conditions with the wind a gentle 8 mph for the first groups; however by 1000 am the breeze had picked up and then blew at an average of 18 mph for the rest of the day. This is virtual calm for St Enodoc links but the increase was more than enough to get the Ladies attention and this was reflected in many of the scores when par was excellent scoring.
Although there are still a handful of players out on the course the shape of the leader board for tomorrows final round is becoming clear. Out of over 100 golfers only the top 32 and ties will play the last two rounds - this is a fairly brutal cut and some Cornish golfers are amongst the casualties. First of these is St Enodoc Country Member Jenny Justice and whose two round total of 162 leaves her on 57th place and very unlikely to play tomorrow. She will be joined by Elizabeth Bird of Falmouth GC, Jan Harrison of Launceston GC, Lynda Simpson of Trevose GC, Eugenie Knight of Carlyon Bay GC and Georgia Bird of Bude GC.
Those Cornish Ladies who are through are Samantha Giles of St Mellion GC on +11, Emily Toy of Carlyon Bay GC on +10 and Sarah-Jane Boyd (the holder) of Truro GC on +8. The current leader - Alexandra Peters lies on +3. There are several England Internationals in the top 10 and it looks to be building up to an exciting last day.
