With Autumn on us thoughts turn to our County Club teams and none more so than our scratch side for the Cornwall Team Championship. There has been a major change in the rules this year as Cornwall has come into line with the rest of the country which requires players to keep their handicaps at the club that they represent. In recent years two of our Country Members Mark Justice and Mike Weaver, who both coincidently have their handicaps at Walton Heath have been stalwarts of our CTC team. Both of them have had amazingly good win records for the Club and have contributed to our successes in the competition, we can now only now thank them for their terrific contribution.
We move on and as you will see below the squad for this year's competition has several new faces in Joe Combellack, who has had a great track record in our Juniors and Rod Frost, who has this year been playing for the Cornwall Seniors this year with great distinction. The rest of the squad is very experienced in the heat of the battle and have come through many bruising encounters. Our first match on October 26th is at Perranporth against our old rivals Trevose – what a first round!
