Trevose Golf Club is the venue for the Ladies Championship this year and on Thursday 14th April sixty players from thirteen Clubs set out to play in the 36 holes qualifying competition in bright and breezy conditions. Defending Champion Sammie Giles played the 36 holes qualifying competition but was not able to continue due to other commitments. Georgia Price from Bude was the top qualifier (152) and Emily Wilson from Truro had a fine round to qualify in second place. (162)
The Western Morning News Cup for the club with the four lowest scratch score total was won by Truro (684) 2nd Perranporth (706) 3rd Newquay (709).
Four players from St Enodoc qualified for the Plate Competition so they were back in action again on Friday morning for at least one round of matchplay.

Sue Willmott lost to Katie Sandow (Tehidy Park) 4&3
Sue Ofield lost to Collette Burgess (Bude) 2&1
Penny Cartwright won 5&4 v Chris Williams
Penny went on to play Lynn Saget from Carlyon Bay in the second round on Friday afternoon. This was a closely contested match with Lynn 1up after nine holes and despite Penny’s best efforts Lynn closed out the match on the 16th green.
