On Saturday 17th November the men played the 2nd round of the John Cory Cup. The weather was cold but clear with a tough south easterly wind making it a hard slog from 13 home. There are still 2 temporary tees in play while maintenance continues making the CSS from the white tees 72.
Paul Hughes won by a clear 5 points with 38, after blobbing the first and hitting 6 on the second Paul probably thought is wasn’t his day but from there on the tables turned! On the 7th he hit a 3 to score 5 points off his handicap. Paul has won both rounds of the Cory Cup so far so is top of the series with 40 points.
In second place, Mark Westlake was ahead on countback with 33 points thanks to his birdie on the 15th. Also with 33 points, David Lupton finished in 3rd, Peter George in 4th, Keith Searle in 5th and Rod Frost in 6th place. Rob Cook and Keith Hawke also picked up prizes in 7th and 8th place respectively, with 32 points each.
