A full field of 92 turned out for the first round in the series of the Colonel's and Metropole Cups for 2019. It was a fairly benine day which certainly helped the scoring, but it was definitely close at the top of the Colonel's competition.
It would seem 35 points in the first round of this competition is fairly standard looking back on previous year's. So, thankfully, John Paul and Rod Frost in the Colonel's and Andy Golding in the Metropole didn't disappoint! If there had been a competition for the most '2 pointer's' John Paul would have won hands down, especially on the back nine where the only thing that spoiled it was a welcome 3 pointer on the 14th!
Colonels Cup: 1st John Paul 35 points, 2nd Rod Frost 35 points, 3rd Peter Chinnery 34 points, 4th Richard Lawrence 33 points, 5th Bob Cruse 32 points, 6th Mark Stevenson 32 points,
Metropole Cup: 1st Andy Golding 35 points, 2nd Kevin Richards 33 points, 3rd Chris Tickner 33 points, 4th Geoff Jones 31 points, 5th Mark Jarvis 31 points, 6th Jeff Buckley 31 points, 7th Tom Wills 31 points.
