The sixth round of the Colonel’s and Metropole Cups series was played on Saturday 26th July.
Ninety players tried their luck in the stableford, trying to improve their position in the series, which consists of a total of eight competitions.
In Division 1, David Flew turned in a very impressive 42 points. Rarely do we see scores in the 40’s at St Enodoc, so this was a remarkable performance. The result of this superb scoring was a 2-shot cut in Mr Flew’s handicap, followed by yet another reduction from what is now known as an Exceptional Scoring Reduction, which the administration was happy to apply in this case!
Division 2 was won by Joe Tamblyn with 37 points. Joe has been showing promise for some time and he too will be coming down in handicap without doubt.
With two more to play in the series, there will be some keen attention on the score sheet as players vie for position.
