It was the penultimate round of the Colonel's and Metropole Cups on Saturday. 84 members entered the combined competitions with scores counting toward the series which ends next month.
In the Colonel's division Chris Jennings took the top spot with 36 points. Pro shop ace, Adrian Halling, came 2nd with 35 points and Sam Jarvis came in 3rd with 34 points. Finishing 4th on countback from Sam, Martin Biddle had 34 points as well. He picks up the 20 series points being the best placed player entered in the series. In 5th on countback Nigel Connolly had 33 points.
The Metropole division was won by Derek Rushton with 37 points, with Danny Hoare in 2nd place with 36 points. Neal Jolly finished 3rd with 35 points and Nigel Ahearn and Byron Weston were 4th and 5th respectively with 34 points each. In 7th place Malcolm Knight picks up some sweep money - you've got to be in it to win it!
With just one round left to play in the series, Martin Biddle leads the Colonels Cup by just 1 point from John Rowe and Derek Rushton is ahead in the Metropole Cup. The series tables are posted in 'Extras'.
