Round 5 of the Colonels and Metropole Cups saw humid weather, the rain held off but it was hot and sticky for golf. While the British players were holding their own at Wimbledon, it was the Cornish heading up the Colonels and Metropole Cups!
Division 1, The Colonel’s Cup, was won by Neil Bradley with 38 points, his first win in the Colonel’s this year but he is now leading the Series as well. Neil went out with 22 points but dropped a few points on the way back in, he parred the 4th and the 8th and then the 17th to solidify his win.
In 2nd place Rod Frost had 38 points and his handicap id reduced to 5. Matthew Mills was 3rd with 36 points ahead of Bob Cruse in 4th on countback. Ken Perring was 5th with 35 points and Guy Hovil 6th also on 35 points.
Nigel Buse finished 1st in Division 2, The Metropole Cup. He took first place on countback with 35 points finishing with a solid par on 18. Wayne Mitchell also had 35 points in 2nd place and Roger Tremain was 3rd with 34 points ahead of Ian McKelvey and Richard Bentley on countback. Ian and Richard were 4th and 5th respectively.
