Played in late July every year the Lanhydrock Seniors Open is always well supported by many clubs around the County and this year was no exception with 137 entries. Equally every year the St Enodoc entry is organised by the hirsute David Barber, a matter which is appreciated by his colleagues. St Enodoc is always well represented and with over twenty Seniors playing yesterday.
To say that St Enodoc did well yesterday would be something of an understatement. Firstly the aforementioned David Barber won the entire tournament with an excellent score of 42 points. Secondly Steve Smith managed a hole in one on the tricky 7th hole, winning not only nearest the pin but also a barrow load of Titleist balls. Norman Hawkey had a fine round of 40 points which was good enough for 6th place overall. And lastly Ian Day won the Super Seniors competition (don\'t ask - something to do with being born before the Pharaohs) with a score of 39 points. So a great day out for the Seniors some of whom also scooped up more Titleist balls in the 2\'s competion.
Finally a word about the course; Lanhydrock, as it often is in summer, was in great condition and beautifully manicured. Best parkland course in the County in summer ? Almost certainly yes.
