On a glorious sunny day 51 players from 12 Clubs set out in the 107th Ladies Championship at St. Enodoc. The first day was 36 holes of medal play to determine the 16 qualifiers for the match play competition to determine the County Champion.
The field includes International Sammie Giles (St. Mel), defending Champion Emily Toy (CB) and past champions Liz Bird and Jan Sargeant and 4 juniors: Victoria Pawley (Tre), Danielle Price (Perran), Laura Andrew (Truro) and Gemma Marsland (New)
After the morning round Sammie led with 1 under 72 followed by Emily on 80. In the afternoon Sammie posted a level par 73 to become top qualifier (145) with Emily (160) 2nd qualifier closely followed by Laura Andrew (163) who had the best afternoon round of 76.
The Western Morning News Cup was retained by Carlyon Bay (678), 2nd Perranporth (691) & 3rd St. Enodoc 719. The cut off for the main Championship was 181 and the Plate 193. Both Rounds were qualifiers.
