St Enodoc competed in the annual CLCGA 36 hole medal competition for the Baron Rose Bowl and the Baron Rose Bowl Team Trophy at The Point at Polzeath on Monday 10th June. Twenty of the County's clubs were represented this year with Carlyon Bay and Falmouth respectively looking to retain the title's. Perranporth had other idea's in the team event with a winning total of 460, as did Bude in the individual event with Collette Burgess & Mandy Congdon winning with a overall combined total of 142.
The original team sheet changed with a late call up for debutant Maria Buckley who replaced Penny Cartwright to pair up with Caroline H Kendall. This formula didn't quite go to plan in the morning with the ladies recording a nett 85.5. However, they dug in and redeemed themselves beautifully with the lowest nett score of the afternoon with 71.5.
The St Enodoc Ladies Team had a combined score of 471 from the three pairings of Meg Godfrey & Bev Vann (156), Lynn Ashcroft & Annie Hawkey (158) and of course Maria Buckley & Caroline H Kendall (158) which meant that they were not far off the mark. A fantastic effort from everyone involved and we look forward to next year!
