St. Enodoc Golf Club - Church & Holywell Beason Medal 2019

Church & Holywell Beason Medal 2019

It was yet another stunning day for the ladies competition, which was overdue after having such a wet June. However, the medal format isn't everyone's favourite, but there was a reasonable entry to make it worthwhile. Twenty two ladies ventured out onto the Church with nineteen in Division 1 and three in Division 2. It would seem that Jenny Justice who play's off a 2 handicap rescued her round after finishing with three birdies on the bounce to post the lowest gross of 76 nett 74. It get's more interesting in that Kath Biddle also had a nett 74, but was pipped to the post on countback and for her efforts was cut from 11 to 10! In the Bronze Division Penny Moon was streets ahead with a nett 77.

The Holywell had Round 3 of the Beason Medal with eighteen ladies of various ages partaking. The youngest of the competitors was Holly Justice aged just nine and yes, you guessed it she is the daughter of our Church course winner Jenny Justice. However, not to be outdone Holly posted a fantastic nett 59 to come in second place, but Anne Mayne was the big winner of the day with a nett 58. Due to the fact it was such an impressive score and that Anne had consistently played well for sometime now naturally her handicap was cut by the relative amount plus an extra shot for an exceptional score..... Well done ladies!
