The annual Chris Harbour Charity Day was once again well supported with a full complement of 34 teams. A pesky rain front to start quickly cleared to leave a bright, breezy day for the competitors who enjoyed the wonderful conditions of the Church Course. The St. Austell Brewery wagon greeted players on the 10th tee and while some may have left the tent a bit worse-for-wear they faced the tee shot on the 10thwith a bit of liquid courage at least.
A very good raffle was again hosted by the remarkable Bob Keates, who for 12 years has helped the Club raise funds for charity. A very warm thank you from all of us, Bob, for your efforts.
The winning team on the day was the Camel Glass team – Geoff & Sue Jones, Colin Nolan and Professional Nick Williams – with a score 78 stableford points (2 scores to count).
Second place: was the Dormy House team of Anders & Trudie Tensjo, Katie Rule and Antony Nash.
Third place: Trefelix Team – Dennis Brown, Stuart Kirkbride, Steve Smith, Richard Matheron.
Fourth Place: Millie, Molly, Mandy & Mary – Meg Godfrey, Larry Barnecutt, Mary Baillie & Anna Clagett.
Fifth Place: Bill John Team 4 – Kevin Stokes, Dave Hurst, Mark Rogers, Paul Lucas
Local charities will again be the beneficiaries of this golf competition and the Club offers its thanks to everyone who contributed by either entering a team, sponsoring a hole or donating a raffle prize.
