Christmas has now come and gone at St Enodoc and various competitions have taken place when the weather has permitted. The recent Rowarth Salver, played just before Christmas, was a bit of a family affair with Shannon Ashcroft coming in with an admirable 36 points which cut her handicap by one to 22. In second place was her mother Lynn with 32 points and third place was taken by Maxine Rich with 30 points.
Between Christmas and New Year a Foursome Flag competition was played on the Church Course. The winners of this competition were Chris Dymond and Terri Gliddon who finished one foot from the 18th pin. Second and third were the pairings of Bobbie Rounsevell and Jane Bendall (1ft from 17th pin) and Sue Foster and Edna Alford (3ft from 17th pin).
The first competition of the New Year was another round of the Stableford Salver which was won by Sue G Jones with 35 points. This brought her handicap down to single figures from 10 to 9 and gives her credit for all the hard work she puts into her golf. Second was Jax Buse with 34 points and third was Vicki Stephenson with 33 points.
On Tuesday 10th January a Stableford Competition was played on both courses. On the Church Course the 2 Sue Joneses of St Enodoc took the lead in both divisions. Sue G Jones won Division 1 with 33 points, and with an increase in the CSS, reduced her handicap by another .2 keeping her safely on 9 handicap for a while. Second place went to Jax Buse with 32 points and 3rd was Mary Rayment with 31 points. In Division 2 Sue F Jones was the winner with 29 points on countback from Anne Humphreys and Lynn Ashcroft in second and third. On the Holywell Course 3 ladies came in with 35 points. The winner was Teresa Radford followed by Annie Matthews and Shena Davies, all on countback.
