Once again the St Enodoc Club Captain's Day was blessed with decent weather; in fact on the basis what we have had so far this soggy summer very decent weather. Plenty of sun with a stiff breeze to keep the golfers honest and to maintain their attention on the task in hand.
Some ninety odd golfers set out on both the Church and Holywell courses with high hopes of securing some of the rather excellent prizes on offer; team, nearest the pin for both boys and girls and of course the ever popular 2's. There was much chatter and speculation in the locker room as to which teams looked strongest and whilst the winning team were amongst those mentioned, due it must be said to the presence of two most excellent Lady golfers in the team, they were thought to be somewhat weakened by what was perceived to be their erratic men. How wrong the chatterers were ! Although it is not true that their names are now down for the CTC team. There was also some guessing as what might constitute a winning score - mid 90's being favourite. In the event the wind and super fast greens, with some "interesting" pin positions depressed the scores.
Club Captain Tony Mindel organised, with help which he acknowledged in his speech, a great day and on which everyone clearly enjoyed themselves both on the course and at the BBQ and disco which followed. There are a good number of photos of the day to be found on the Club's Facebook page - have a look - especially at the video of the great escape.
