On a day somewhat typical of this years \"summer\" viz fitful sunshine, a cool southerly breeze gusting at over 25 mph, one hundred and four Members set out on the two courses for Captain\'s Day. The format was mixed teams of four, full handicap, stableford and with two scores to count on each hole. There was also a Nearest the Pin prize for both Ladies & Gents together with an optional \"2\'s\" competition on the Church.
At the prize giving the Captain announced that thanks to the kindness and generosity of many Members his chosen charity for the year, the Macmillan Cove project, has thus far raised £11,000. He also announced a mixed trip next May to Ferndown & Dudsbury details of which are in the Clubhouse and which will appear soon on the website. Parish notices over the Captain proceeded with main business of presenting prizes of Club shirts and sweaters to those who mastered the courses somewhat better than the rest.
