One of the most difficult formats in golf must be that of mixed foursomes. Each year, the Richard Beaven Bowl is played for by the courageous (or is that masochistic?) pairs looking to win the glory of this prestigious title. No doubt there were some matches that produced grumblings and mutterings from both genders whilst smiling to their playing partners. Such is the nature of this wonderful game.
The winning pair this year was Steve Buse and Penny Moon, beating John Paul and Trudie Tremain in the final. This was some sweet revenge from last year when John & Trudie eliminated Steve & Penny.
Steve & Penny got to the final by beating Malcolm Cole and Lynn Ashcroft, while John & Trudie advanced by beating Tuck & Janine Clagett. Well done to all who competed. You deserved a well-earned rest!
