St. Enodoc Golf Club - New Bunker profile trial extended

New Bunker profile trial extended

The new adopted approach to presenting the bunkers is a lightly raked bottom with a smooth, firm face. This should alleviate the risk of a plugged ball, giving ample roll to the centre of the bunker giving the golfer adequate opportunity to play a shot.

By this process will create greater consistency across all bunkers around the course and improve playability.

The links gives a rationale as to the trial of the new profile and the benefits gained. Bunkers - Raking Strategy Explained Bunker Rake

The Greens Committee have extended this format and presentation until the next Greens meeting on the 24th May.

Members feedback is invited on the change in format / appearance and playability.
