What is the most difficult format in golf? Mixed Foursomes Medal which is what we had on Sunday 13th March when celebrating the playing of one of our oldest competitions the Bray Bowl. With the fourth day running of nice calm, warm and sunny weather and the greens fast and true things could not have been made any easier to offset the tough format. As a result we were not to be denied a truly astonishing winning score by Joe Cruse and Lynn Ashcroft who had a gross 75 playing off 9 so a net 66. As the Captain pointed out they would have won without getting any shots at all! We must not forget in second place were Sam Jarvis and Sue Roworth with a very creditable net 79 which in many years would have been good enough to win.

There was as is now customary a Foursomes competition on the Holywell where all the teams were covered by just 3 points with worthy winners in Nigel Ashcroft and Judy Redman on net 66 closely followed by Malcolm Knight, whose rich vein of form continues, and Rose Jones on 67. Altogether a lovely day of Spring golf which everyone enjoyed and even if one\'s golf was not up to much the Spring weather made us all feel so much better as if we have all just come out of hibernation – well certainly Winter!
