Boxing Day smiles all round from l to r: Rod Frost, Sue Kingston-Frost, Ladies Captain Sue Roworth and Club Captain Tony Mindel
No mud, no temporary greens, no artificial teeing areas just a dry links course in good winter condition and not a hint of even a breeze greeted those Members who had signed up for the traditional Boxing Day Twelve Hole Foursomes competition on the Church Course.
By long tradition there is a 12 hole Foursomes competition on Boxing Day where each player “enters” by bringing a wrapped present ( to a value of under £6, no, no, no ... not an unwanted gift from the day before !) which is placed on the prize table and the winners get first pick of the prizes. Choosing a prize can be hazardous but if you want a bottle they are not too hard to recognise!
The winning pair get first choice from the wrapped mystery prize table and so on down the list. This years winners, seemingly unaffected by the previous day's jollity were Rod & Sue Kingston-Frost with 20 stableford points. Those who turned up early enough to hit a few practice putts were entertained for a while with the Stan & Ollie show as the Head Pro's new puppies zoomed around showing off. (Memo for the puppies - Keep your golfer on a lead !)
