The Summer Scratch Knockout Competition in it's third year has now drawn to a conclusion with the final having been played on Monday 2nd September. There were thirteen entries and as the competition suggests it was off a level footing for all teeing up from the blue stones. There were some tough matches along the way, but resident member Martin Trees eventually came up against one of the St Enodoc greenkeeping team and single figure golfer Matt Fox who joined us from Chinafleet.
Martin's quarter final and semi final matches went the distance going down the 20th and the 19th respectively whilst Matt won on the 19th in his quarter final and won 5&4 in his semi final. Both Martin and Matt had played the day before in the 36 hole Goodman Trophy and it was hard to know how this match would play out, but just to make it interesting the weather was a tad unsettled. The result was 4&3 in Matt's favour with the gentlemen shaking hands on the 15th green.
Well done to both for making the final and congratulations to Matt on winning the 2019 Summer Scratch Knockout.
