Saturday's John Cory Cup #7 was a very tough test of golf, as proven by the 'reductions only' result on the CSS sheet. Standard Scratch went out to 74 on the day (normally 71). However, as always, there is someone who beats the odds and leaves the rest if the field scratching their heads, wondering 'How did he do that?' Saturday was John Paul's day. John scored a very impressive 33 points and was cut as a result - this on a day when most were simply trying to stay upright! In second, with an equally impressive 32 points off +2 was Joe Cruse, beating Charlie Runnalls on countback. Malcolm Cole continued his late run of form with 31 points and was joined by three others, including Mike Masters, Repka Deboer and Derek Rushton.
There are two competitions remaining in the John Cory Cup, so it's all to play for!
