The second round of the Ladies’ Club Championship took place on Saturday 3rd October and once again the competitors enjoyed playing in glorious sunshine. After the completion of the first round, the leader board was tightly packed with a number of players in contention for silverware. However, Bev Vann produced the best round of the day (an excellent nett 69) which was too good for the rest of the field and enabled her to secure the Barbara Robson Trophy for the first time. Defending champion, Sue Ofield won the Foster Centenary Trophy for the best nett score.
David Elliott and Trudie Tensjo congratulated the players and thanked all the members who made a special effort to attend the presentation of prizes.
Bev said that she was delighted to have finally won the Barbara Robson Trophy after several attempts and put this year’s success down to a combination of her own perseverance and a recent lesson with Antony Nash! Bev thanked her playing partners and everyone invoved in organising the 2015 Championships.
