Saturday 13th July saw round 4 of the Battle Trophy played in glorious sunshine yet again and judging by some of the excellent scores posted this was a Battle in name but not in nature. With the course drying out significantly and becoming very fast running in the last few weeks due to the recent hot weather players found these true links conditions to their liking.
Things were tight at the top with five nett 68s being posted but the man who stood out was Rich Hawken taking First Place with a superb nett 66 which was finished off in style with a birdie on the last hole.
Neil Carhart came home in Second Place finishing atop the group of 68s after count-back with Joe Cruse finishing in Third despite a gross 66 which for Joe equates to a nett 68. Joe\'s score contained 4 birdies in the last 5 holes and secured the lowest gross score of the day.
