Sixty nine members entered the Battle Trophy on Saturday, playing in warm sunshine with a south westerly wind. The conditions mirrored those at Troon but did the standard of play?
Keith Hawke finished in first place with a nett score of 67, he was ahead of the field by a margin along with John Westlake in second place, not quite as far ahead as Stenson and Mickleson but even so an impressive performance from Keith with a birdie on the 13th. John Westlake finished with nett 68 in second place.
Behind the leaders Dennis Brown and Bob Cruse took 3rd and 4th place with nett 71 each. Kenton Williams was 5th on countback with nett 72 followed by Tuck Clagett in 6th place also with nett 72. Neil Bradley and Nick Shelley took the last of the prize money in 7th and 8th place respectively each with nett 72.
Josh Greenaway had the lowest Gross of the day in 10th place with a gross score of 72.
