Saturday 18th May saw Round 3 of this year\'s Medal Battle Trophy and the competition was held in conjunction with the Ken Tune Cup. Conditions were excellent with sunshine and just a light breeze and as a result the scoring was very good. Particular mention must be made for the winner Gavin Jarvis whose gross 76 off a handicap of 12 meant a net 64 on a day when the Standard Scratch was 72 – a cut of 2 from his handicap is his just reward!
The Ken Tune Cup was originally given to commemorate the amazing achievement of Ken shooting a 76 gross at the age of 76. The winner of the Cup is the player whose gross score is nearest his age and without breeching the Data Protection Act it can only be disclosed that the winner was Keith Willmott who in fact was third in the main competition by 3 shots .
