The St Enodoc team consisting of Richard Hawken, Andy Bunt(captain). Robbie Moore, Richard Matheron, Mark Westlake and Russell (chatterbox) Combellack played Tehidy on Sunday 6th May in bright but breezy conditions. The first pair out were Hawken and Bunty with the General Manager on Bunty\'s bag to keep him under control; after some excellent golf the St Enodoc pair won on the 15th 4&3.
Next up were Moore and Matheron who after a tight match found themselves 1 down on the 18th tee , Mavs tee shot found the fairway while Tehidy went Out of Bounds and had to reload. What should have been easy for our pair turned out to be awkward when Robbie half sliced half shanked his 2nd shot right towards the seat. The ball was found by the General Manager and played to the front of the green by Mavs an incredible shot considering the grass was taller than him and 2 putts sealed the hole - match halved!
The last pairing of Westy and Combellack played well on the front nine and were 3 up at the turn but after a couple of bad holes around the church which included a half in 7 on the 14th were 1 up stood on the 17th tee. Tehidy teed off first and pushed their ball right above the bunker but playable, Westy then proceeded to hit the shot of the match a superb 3 wood into wind 12 feet from the hole. Tehidy, under pressure, duffed their chip and then just found the green with their 3rd, after missing the putt Tehidy watched as Combellack rolled up stone dead and won the match - an excellent win 2 half to a half.
