Mike Maberly ‘retired’ from being captain of the day for this match after 10 years so it was Richard Parsons who captained the ‘old boys’ from St. Enodoc. The weather was good so it was about how wet the course was at St. Mellion and could we cope with more grass on fairways and longer rough.
As usual with seniors’ golf the matches were played in the usual good spirit.
The away team managed to get their noses in front after 6 matches leading 4—2 but the last 2 matches went to St. Mellion both 2 and 1 so the match result was 4—4.
Nearest the pin on 11th hole was Nigel Thomas.
