The Atlantic Derby consists of 6 individual scratch match plays, it's played at home and away and the highest aggregate score wins. St. Enodoc were 6-0 from the first match on the 26th of February at Trevose. Scores from the second match hosted at St. Enodoc on the 2nd of April are as follows:
Trevose had another decent side -handicaps are in brackets: Gammon (0), Tremain (3), Leigh (0) , Mark (+1), Trevor (5) and Ben Browning (2).
Masters had the pleasure of playing Tremain in the first round and Gammon in the second. Both of which reportedly have good banter. Welch got the half against 6 foot something Trevor.
Irwin and Leigh had 9 birdies between them, however youth prevailed. Speaking of youth Lewis Bradley, on his debut, came up against Browning (playing off 2) and took his match to the last despite being 4 down 4 to play.
There was also strong fighting spirit displayed from top match play merchant Steve Chapman, who birdied the 17th and 18th for the win.
Overall the Atlantic Derby was a successful event and both teams look forward to the competition next year.
The next team fixtures are the A and B team events during May at County week, Perranporth Golf Club and then back onto the CTC in September.
