John Arnold defended his narrow margin in the John Cory Cup Series, finishing with a very commendable 31 points on Saturday amongst 62 other brave souls. Once again, the weather was a challenge – so much so that many in the field were bludgeoned by hail storms and strong winds.
The impressive winner on the day was Keith Hawke with 41 points, 4 points clear of second place which was Paul Honey, who has turned in two successive weeks of good scoring (with the handicap cut to prove it!). Keith had four birdies on his card which contributed greatly to a very handsome card.
So another successful Cory Cup is now closed. These series competitions continue in popularity as is evidenced by the strong entries and resulting prizes. John Arnold won a £93 voucher for his series win, which should motivate his fellow competitors for the next series. Prizes ran to eleven places in the series. Well done John for a very steady winter of golf.
