The sun was shining last week for the Antony Nash golf day and our resident tour professional hosted that was by all accounts a successful day.The membership turned out in force along with many visitors to support Antony and take part in the day.
The course was playing fiery due to the recent heat wave and the format lead to some fantastic scoring. The prize winners were; Sue and Geoff Jones came 4th winning on count back with 46 points, third place went to John Westlake and Derek Daniels (47 points) who were edged on count back by Mark Jarvis and Dave Flew who lead the day from the offset before being overtaken by a fantastic score of 50 points by Joe Combellack and Jeff Davies.
Alongside the main event Antony put on some skills challenges both of which were won by Mark Turner who made the near impossible washing machine shot and scored a fantastic 4 under in the putting competition.
The day was enjoyed by players and Antony managed to raise over £4000.00 which will help him in his come back after his time out due to injury. Antony extended his thanks to; the Club, the Members, those who took part in the day, the hole sponsors, those who made donations, Nick Williams who generously provided the prize table, his family and girlfriend who helped him run the day and were instrumental in its success.
