St. Enodoc Golf Club - Another away win the Seniors

This fixture is traditionally the last one before the seniors enjoy their mid- season break and usually delivers a close well contested encounter. We are delighted to say this was no exception.

The week had begun with the Bodmin area experiencing heavy prolonged showers which severely tested the expertise of the ground staff. Thankfully ,the staff’s preparations were able to cope with the occasional showers we encountered. The first five matches were evenly contested with no more than two holes between the teams and reports of excellent golf being played by both sides. St. Enodoc went on to clinch the match when Mike Lovett and John Westlake combined to record a convincing victory. The final score being St. Enodoc 4.5 to Lanhydrock 3.5.

The enjoyment of the splendid food was interrupted by presentations for nearest the pin on the 15th hole to Dave Holt and John Westlake. Captain of the Day Derek Rushton gave and a short but sincere tribute to Andy Wood’s contributions to this fixture. The return fixture on September 29th will be certain to be quite a contest!
